Education and Achievements
Brian was born and raised in Greenville, SC and graduated from Greenville High in 1998. In 2002 he graduated cum laude from the Honors College of Clemson University with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. He then attended The University of South Carolina School of Law and received his Juris Doctor in 2005.
Brian was a member of the Student Bar Association while he attended law school and is currently a member of the Greenville County Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and the American Bar Association. He is also a graduate of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. In 2013, he was awarded a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent rating, which is awarded only to those attorneys who perform at the highest level of professional excellence. In 2017, he was selected as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by The National Trial Lawyers Committee. In 2019, he was selected by Super Lawyers Magazine as a Rising Star for attaining a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. In 2020, he was selected as one of the Legal Elite and featured in the Columbia Business Monthly, the Greenville Business Magazine and the Charleston Business Magazine. In 2022, he was selected by Super Lawyers Magazine as a Super Lawyer.
Philanthropy and Community Service
Brian supports various philanthropies, including the March of Dimes and the National Alliance for Mental Illness. He has been a volunteer high school basketball coach and also a volunteer at Hershey student meets, which promote self esteem and a strong work ethic in our youth.
Experience and Quality
Brian is a former 13th Circuit Greenville County Public Defender and has worked with more than a thousand clients and four thousand charges ranging from simple assault to murder. Furthermore, he has handled numerous high profile media cases (recent results here), mentored new attorneys, and developed an outstanding reputation among his colleagues. As a private attorney, he uses these experiences and strengths to devise sound, strategic legal plans for each of his clients. Brian believes that having an attorney who is knowledgeable and methodical is crucial. Moreover, he prides himself on being accessible and honest with his clients.
